(Deborah Pereira made an interesting question)

Subject: The submissive woman
In the study "The Submissive Woman" the author mentions that the glory of the victory of the people of Israel by Baraque, because he was afraid and asked Deborah was together... However, this is not so, the glory of that victory, that Deborah cites in verse 9, chapter 4, went to Jael!! and not for Deborah!...
Pay attention to this...
God bless!
Even more...

Hello Débora, good night! The Peace of the Lord!

Thak you for your contact.

I think there's a little misunderstanding about what we quote.

You must be referring to the glory of Jael who is mentioned in Judges 5:24 said in the Song of Deborah as follows:

(Judges 5:24) - "Blessings be on Jael, more than on all women! Blessings greater than on any in the tents!" Sícera for killing enemy of the people of Israel, this is the Song of Deborah in chapter 5.

But we refer to the glory of Deborah for having the courage to have started the war and because of Barak's statement as below, see:

(Judges 4:8) - "And Barak said to her, If you will go with me then I will go; but if you will not go with me I will not go."

(Judges 4:9) - "And she said, I will certainly go with you: though you will get no honour in your undertaking, for the Lord will give Sisera into the hands of a woman. So Deborah got up and went with Barak to Kedesh." (Deborah here may even be referring to Jael, but most believe it is referred to herself). So much so that in sermons we hear more talk about the courage of Deborah.

(Judges 5:12) - "Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam."

Of course Jael killed Sisera (which was already defeated and fleeing), but Deborah was the one who faced the greatest challenges throughout the battle / war (beginning, middle and end).

But it was a very good observation, perhaps put this addendum, this e-mail (content) there. The website will undergo a makeover in 3 to 4 months and possibly we will quote your e-mail (content) there.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Best regards,
renato and wife
